I'm a guy and my hair is naturally curly, help?

I have to straighten it every day, is there any way I can make it permanently straight without having to straighten it EVERY SINGLE DAY. It's annoying and takes too much time. My hair is totally unmanagable even when brushing/combing it. I HAVE to straighten it for it to look even halfway decent.

you could buzz it and wear a wig

Go to the saloon nd have a perm.

It costs a lot of money but if it means that much to you...

Guy above me perming is for straight to curly

if you want to get straight hair for a long time go and rebond it, it will probably last for 8 months

get an asian straight "relaxer".

or get a relaxer for african amer hair...

noooo! don't waste your lovely curls... find a curly haircut that works for you. (and ladies can't resist playing with them.)

Fuzzy curls can be awesome, but since smooth is in fashion right now, Frizz Ease is good. Try shampoo and conditioner with "curl" in the title, which make for less tangly-fuzz and more well-defined curls. Only ever brush it when it's soaking wet, and let it air-dry... if the result is still too unruly for you, use some leave-in conditioner or non-aerosol hairspray.

However, if you absolutely must straighten, I suppose you could get it permed at a salon (like $60, and then redo your roots every so often), or you could use chemical relaxers at home. (Anything with African Americans on the front of it will be strong enough for a semi-'fro like yours or mine.)

You can also wash your hair less often, since I imagine it curls when you get it wet, and since curly hair doesn't actually need to be washed or brushed every single day.

(ps. in the 50's, my mom used empty orange juice cans like giant curlers, and they gave her that smooth straight look just like everyone else. So I suppose that's an option too!)

ugh.. i know how you feel.. I have real curly hair and it's a real pain to straighten. if you don't want to straighten it every day, i suggest you get it permenatly straightened at a salon.

My husband has the same hair you do. When I met him he used to comb it back into a helmet. I introduced him to hair product. He uses some gel for curly hair that doesn't make his hair crunchy and if he doesn't want to use that he uses conditioner while his hair is still wet and leaves it in. Whatever you do don't brush it! You'll grow to like your natural hair and it's sooo much easier when you don't have to mess around with it that much

have you ever tried it really short and curly?

Depending on your facial structure, curls done right may add to your face, and look good.

of course, i dont know you, but perhaps its time to try something new, since its so unmanagable right now.

Good Luck!

You could go to a salon and have it straightened. I know where I live it's like $65 to have it done. And then you have to get your roots redone every once in a while. Maybe you could get some non-volumizing shampoo.

Deal with it, that's what I have to do. I can spend 5 hours straightening my hair, and it still not be straight.
