and stiff brissles on the other side . You can purchase them about anywhere ..Wal*Mart , Dollar Store , any pet store,

argh! Don't use a brush. Use a metal comb. Hold the comb vertically and PICK at the matt by using your other hand to hold the matt close to the body to reduce the pull on the dogs skin.

A daily COMBING (down to the skin thru all the layers of hair) will prevent more matts.

Also, check the arm pits and between the pads of the feet for matts. These especially need to be removed. Get a good pair of round tipped small scissors for this.
