You need to use the right products. Starting with a good smoothing shampoo and thick consistency conditioner, I like Humectress by Nexxus. Then I reccommend blow drying it straight and smoothing again with a flatiron.

If you seriously want straight, flat hair, there is a professional treatment available from L'Oreal Professional called Extenso. I get this done at the salon every 6 months or so, it doesn't take all the wave out of your hair, but relaxes it to the point of "non-fluffiness"

I like the cream that comes in the little flat jar...looks like a pomade. It's very light. My hair fluffs too. This works perfectly for me. Although I don't like to advertise for them (jerks) Great Clips makes a product called glossing cream. It's good for de-fluffing too. Hope this helps!
