Is hair easier to French Braid while wet or dry?

I have medium to long hair, it's natural curly but if I brush it out it's soft waves. I've been trying something new and braiding it. I've known how to braid my own hair since I was 10 yrs. old but can't remember what's better...

I think dry is easier. It's hard to get it smooth when it's wet - unless you use a brush at the same time.

matters if you want tight or loose.. i find its easier to do wet.. well damp at least.. you can pull the shorter hairs and tuck them better.. dry hair can look smoother though.. but the tighter you can get it.. the longer it stays looking nice
