Just got a cockerspaniel. Any tips in controlling pet hair. Besides the obvious, brushing, vacuuming

Get some advice from the breeder about grooming etc.. or make regular visits to a good dog groomer ( sometimes the breeder will also be a groomer !!) Try to have laminate/wood/tiled floors in the rooms where the dog will be, its much quicker to keep clean....

You can use a commercial squeegee on the rug to get the fine hair up - just pull it along the same direction as the nap on the rug. You should be able to find a big sqeegee, the kind that is as big as a mop, at a home supply or hardware store - they're under $20.

Take it to a groomer.

All you can do is brush and vaccum!

But you need a SHED BRUSH it gets the undercoat and overcoat...

Think about switching their diet to something better. The food your dog eats WILL effect their skin and coat. Also think about getting a furminator, they work wonders.

WHAT MOST OWNERS DO IS GET THERE COCKERS SPANIELS CLIP SHORT ALL OVER THE BODY TO MINIMIZE THE HAIR SHEDDING AND BECAUSE THAY ARE A HIGH MAINENCE BREED IT'S EASIER ON THE WALLET AS WELL.
