Looking after my hair?

To be honest, i've never really tried or bothered to look after my hair. It's just shampoo, conditioner, brush every morning.

My hair used to be worse, split ends and broken, but a few months ago i cut my hair quite short to fix this. My hair is decent now. I want to know how i can make it look better than this though. It's about 2 inches from my shoulders at the moment.

So does anyone have any good brands of hair products, or preferably home remedies? I don't use hairspray or any of those items, i only want products i can wash my hair and rinse out with.

Leave in conditioner will help keep your hair hydrated.

The key to having nice hair is in preventive maintance. You can save a lot of money by having your hair trimmed 1/2 inch every 8-10 weeks. This will keep your ends from breaking and splitting which end up costing you 1 -2 inches in length instead of the 1/2 inch you would trim. By doing this you would have nice hair all the time and would be able to grow it out if you so choose in less time. Also avoid brushes that break the hair off, using Boar bristle brushes leave your hair shiny and tend to be gentler on the hair.
