Is there something I can use to permanently straighten it,forever, even when I take a shower with shower cap off?!?

You can permanently straighten anyone's hair.

My hair is chemically straightened and I get it touched up every 6-8 months (usually 8)

And it costs about $400 every time I go but trust me, it's worth every dime.

My hair isn't coarse but it's very frizzy naturally and curly, and no one would ever know because I've gotten it treated.

The amount of time it saves you it tremendous. You can literally shower, and let it dry and it's straight!!! =)

And the amount of money you save on all of those random products that claim to "smooth, hydrate, enhance, de-frizz" etc. and yet never do, is worth spending the $400.

I had the Japanese thermal treatment done, which is the best because it's thoroughly hydrating, meaning it's not going to damage your hair, only help it. And if you have oily hair, its going to neutralize it, without drying it out.

My biggest suggestion however is to make sure that you go to a PROFESSIONAL who has had a lot of experience. Trying to do it on your own or going somewhere not that reputable is not a good idea. You could seriously damage your hair. I recommend doing it, it's totally worth it.

you could get a relaxer, but those can damage your hair. Or just get it professionally straightened and wrap it every night and dont put grease in it all the time.

The texture of your hair is something that is ingrained when you are conceived, it's written into your genetic structure (DNA). The only way to permanently change it would be to change your DNA, which is, of course, impossible. Perms act as something that breaks down the structure of the hair, and then reforms it with a different texture. But as your hair grows out, parts that haven't been treated will surface. There is no way to change your hair forever, you'd need to alter how your body makes hair.

You cannot permanently change the condition of any kind of hair. Your hair is constantly growing out of your scalp (or you would be bald!) The new growth must be straightened, if that is what you want.

Just go to a hair salon and get a perm--you probably think of a perm as CURLING your hair, but they can have it STRAIGHTENED as well. You should check it out if you go through so much work every morning! Good luck.

Not forever, think about it...your hair grows and only the treated part will stay straight. There are plenty of products on the market to help you out. If you're afraid to try them contact your local hairdresser for the first go at it and have her show you how to do it for the future. Good luck!

my condition is the same as yours. i have really curly hair and i hate combing it down to every strand in the morning. for me i don't put grease; i put olive oil instead. but olive oil is really very oily and doesn't flatten my hair either.

i suggest you go for rebonding or straightening. as for your oily scalp you can use shampoos that prevent this from occuring.

the way your hair grows out of your folicle can't be changed, so there is no real permanent way to straighten your hair. There are good products out there to do it but you roots will have to be re-done as it grows out. Go to a salon, though. Don't try to do it yourself. There's too much risk since the chemicals are very harsh.

u can try this japanese style of straightening called thermal reconditioning, it says that they "restructure" your hair texture when it's done...u can get it done about every 6 months, but it's known to be really expensive...but i dont believe there's a way to permanently straighten your hair forever, like the one person said, you would have to change your dna because your hair is always growing and what you were born with will always be constantly growing out of your head

There is no way to permanently straighten it, as your hair type is ingrained into your DNA. However, there are techniques that you can use to straighten it, but it will require effort. I believe someone has already outlined what she does with her hair (the Japanese method), and I think that is the only real reliable way to have it done.

Unfourtunately not permanently, BUT you can get the Japanese silk straightening done to it. You have to get it done every six months....but just as a touch up for the roots.

The process does lighten the color of your hair a little, but I LOVE the resulting straight hair. Its an expensive process...if your lucky $500 if you go to a regular salon. As i mentioned in another posting...you can get it done for a lot less if you do it at the local beauty school, but just make sure that the school in your area has a good expert to pupil ratio, thats a sign of a good school and protects you and your hair.

Also ASK questions on how to maintain it, especially in the first 3 days when the hair is being "retrained". Also, it takes a while so expect the spend most of the day there.
