Should my rabbit be shedding so much hair?

I have a 1 1/2 year old female lionhead rabbit. Due to the ever changing weather she has been in the shed outside but put into her rabbit run (that has a shelter on it) on the fine days. She is currently shedding all her long hair, as in you can brush her and literally it is like all her long hair is coming out leaving short hair underneath. It doesn't look like mites. I am wondering if it is normal for them to shed all their long hair or if something maybe wrong?

With the changing weather- it is very normal. If there are bald spots, then I would be concerned. All 3 of my buns are shedding like no body's business right now.

I would recommend giving your bun a small amount of fresh pineapple and some 100% canned pumpkin (not pie filling- read the can) to make sure the hair doesn't block up her digestive track. I give mine this twice a week.

Could she be pregnant? Females will take their fur out to make a nest for their babies. If that isn't possible, take her to the vet. Maybe she needs vitamins.

Nothing wrong with your bunny, this is a normal occurrence and will happen every Autumn and spring.

She just shedding her summer coat so she can get her thicker winter coat in. I remember when I had rabbits when I was younger it would look like they were losing all of their hair because it would be everywhere.

Nope, nothing is wrong, that's perfectly normal. Rabbits molt about 2-3 times a year. With some, you barely notice it, with others, they are nearly bald! Brush her often, so that she doesn't ingest the fur.

Perfectly normal. Although if it seems to be leaving bald patches instead of a general thinning, take her to the vet. My 3 bunnies are all moulting at the moment and I look like a walking fluffball after picking one up.
